Community of Practice

In July 2022, the Commission established a Gambling Harm Prevention Community of Practice, in partnership with the ACT Gambling Support Service.

The purpose of this Community of Practice is to create a structure that allows community and primary health care workers to share learnings, build shared understandings and create opportunities for collaboration in gambling harm education, prevention, early intervention, counselling and referral across the ACT.

Who can join?

The Community of Practice is open to all individuals engaged in local community and primary health care work with an interest in gambling harm, including those from government, health, education, community and advocacy services.

There are currently 22 ACT community sector organisations actively engaged in this Community of Practice, including:

Resources

People experience gambling harm in different ways. What works well for one person may not be the best option for someone else. If you are working in the community sector, it’s important to know about the range of options and resources that are available to assist gamblers, their families and friends in preventing and reducing gambling harm.
